The emulator runs really fast like a real high end android phone. I am on the 16gb m1 mac mini and this has been the fastest android dev machine for me in the last 10yrs. The emulator runs natively and much faster than intel macs for arm v8 images. Inside, there's a folder, emulator-darwin-aarch64-0.1, the contents of which are suitable for unzipping into ANDROIDSDKROOT/emulator.
